The American Nurses Association Maine has presented Chief Nursing Officer Pamela Poulin, MS, RN, CENP, with their 2023 Agnes E. Flaherty Leadership Award.
This prestigious nursing honor highlights the recipient’s visionary leadership in daily practice and commitment to nursing excellence.
Pam is committed to a high-reliability organization at York Hospital while empowering York Hospital’s nurses to utilize their critical thinking skills and autonomy. The nursing practice council Pam established brings the voice of nurses around evidence-based medicine and nurtures the professional fulfillment of her entire team.
Pam’s commitment to continual process improvement and education is demonstrated by her pursuit of a nurse residency program for graduating nursing students in Southern Maine. She has also partnered with York County Community College (YCCC) as they implemented their inaugural nursing program in fall 2022. York Hospital now serves as the clinical site for YCCC’s first-year nursing students. Pam maintains and values these professional relationships as she collaborates with colleagues in the nursing communities throughout Southern Maine and New Hampshire.
Please join us in offering Pam our congratulations on this well-deserved award, along with our appreciation for sharing her extensive knowledge and endless energy for the benefit of her nursing team – and all of York Hospital.
